Atlantic has specialized equipmet that can interface with all brand named Fluro, Endoscopic, Microscopic and Imaging Systems, i.e. GE, Stryker Endo Suites and BrainLAB. We record direct to digital tape for archiving and Post Production Editing that may include realtime narration from Surgeons or Techs.

Over the past 10 years we've seen a dramatic increase with the involvement of Surgical Techs. One reason is MIS. MIS greatly benefits patients but increases the work load of support staff. Trials, Implant Selection, Autograft Tissue harvesting and prep of same are just a few of the new challenges. When Atlantic records a procedure we take into consideration all components of the case not just the incision site.

One of the most important aspects of a good OR recording session is to involve everyone associated with the case from the beginning. It 's critical that everyone knows why the procedure is being recorded and that only with their help can we make something special. Small things like a surgeon or assistants head moved just an inch left or right of the incision site can make a world of difference for end viewers. Proper selection and use of retractors also insures better imaging when endoscopes or microscopes are not employed. 

With good planning and communication the final product will be something everyone can be proud of and most important meaningful. Bad video is easy, great video is not. It's much more than just showing up with a camera and rolling tape...
